EmmaMary's History
EmmaMary trained as an occupational therapist in London fifty years ago. Having qualified she decided to specialize in mental health and her working life started at York Clinic, Guys Hospital, London. Here she began running encounter groups understanding the importance of sharing worrying issues. From here she began to study newer approaches to health, including Psychosynthesis. This was the first time she became aware of the holistic approach, realizing the importance of including spiritual awareness alongside psychological growth. Emma had practiced yoga and meditation for some years. She had a few years out to raise her family, during which time her interests widened into studying ancient wisdom, philosophy, healing and personal development. She travelled widely, spending time in India, New Zealand and America. Emma set up and ran a Stress Management business, and later studied Life Coaching. She then returned part-time to NHS mental health work bringing her new experiences with her. Whilst working in the NHS EmmaMary continued her training by qualifying as an NLP practitioner, and studying Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and also Mindfulness, and brings this new awareness into her work. Emma's first book isentitled “Holistic Therapy –Overcoming Depression and Anxiety Naturally”, which is available from www.amazon.co.uk or directly from this site. EmmaMary has now retired from the NHS and returned to Holistic Life Coaching, using all of this training and experience to truly point the way forward for her clients. |
